Comfortable homes with spacious accommodations please CTC's clientele. A caring drug rehab center with a homelike environment that allows a client to feel at ease. Unlike "facilities" or large hospitals, the individual is never "lost" in over crowded conditions. There are two clients per room. Nutritious meals, daily snacks, and frequent back yard barbecues please all. These warm surroundings are well kept, nestled in quality neighborhoods and staffed 24 hours a day. Shopping malls are "around the corner", and a local fitness center is nearby for those interested. CTC is ten minutes from the beaches of Southern California. Treatment Philosophy: The California Treatment Centers offers counseling, groups, and a full curriculum of drug and alcohol education, provides clients with basic concepts for a new sober and clean lifestyle. CTC emphasizes learning productive social skills while discovering and eliminating character shortcomings that have always held them back. These are practiced together with honest communication tools. Hope results when effort begins personal change. Clients have an opportunity to identify with others and discover strengths and weaknesses. CTC believes relapse is based on an addict/alcoholics inability to believe in himself; and honestly "change" is not possible. CTC stresses making a personal effort regardless of skepticism, and in short order sees that personal growth is his birth right if he makes an effort to live right. The "Holy Grail" in treatment is maturity. Simply, maturing replaces relapsing. CTC also offers services to dual diagnostic clients, provides psych assessment, necessary medications, and regular follow-up psychological / psychiatric services when necessary. 12 Step Involvement: CTC encourages the 12 step model of recovery. The 12 steps are actually 12 levels of self honesty. Beginning with acceptance that chemical dependency is behavior that cannot be changed by an individual alone, ending with a life is more rewarding in some service to others, the 12 step philosophy creates rigorous honesty with self. "I cannot handle the first pill, drink or fix, and once I start, I make myself the victim of another spree." Quitting drugs is easy, the hard part is staying quit. Regular attendance, and participation in 12 step groups will eventually result in relief from personal conflicts.
